MEDIA RELEASE: Leadership Transition at Albany Chamber of Commerce

Resignation of Kristen Pyrz-Brown as ACCI CEO

The ACCI Executive Committee is sad to announce that Kristen Pyrz-Brown has tendered her resignation as ACCI CEO.

Kristen has been the CEO for 2 years, following a short stint as Acting CEO when she gave support from an Executive Committee position to cover the previous CEO’s exit while recruitment took place.

Kristen moves on to a new role at City of Albany, as Manager Economic Development and Commercial Services.

The ACCI Executive Committee understands Kristen’s responsibilities in this new role include enhancing the City’s interaction with the business community and stimulating economic development generally.  The Executive Committee applauds the City for creating this position, a role for which Kristen is eminently qualified.

Matthew Lilly, ACCI President said, “Under Kristen’s leadership, with support from the Operations Team and the Executive Committee, the Chamber’s relationships with key stakeholders have been enhanced, membership has grown, the advocacy for Albany businesses has increased, and new and exciting events have been added to the Chamber’s calendar.  These events have been very popular, with many of them being over-subscribed, including the ACCI’s pinnacle function of the year, the 2024 Great Southern Business Awards.  Kristen will be missed but we are extremely thankful for her contribution to the Chamber, its staff, and members, and we are looking forward to working closely with Kristen in her new ‘pro business’ position at City of Albany.”

In response Kristen said “It has been an honour to work alongside the ACCI team, Executive Committee, and members. I am incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. It was a difficult decision to make but I am excited to continue supporting the region and working closely with the Chamber in my new role.”

The Executive Committee and the Operations Team thank Kristen for her strong leadership, robust advocacy, and the collaborative nature in which she has lead over the last 2 years.

Appointment of Tracey Bridges as Acting ACCI CEO

The Executive Committee is pleased to announce that one of its members, Tracey Bridges, has agreed to be Acting CEO on Kristen’s departure.

Tracey has been a strong supporter and advocate for the Albany business community for many years. She has previously managed the Albany Business Centre, is currently a ‘Business Local’ consultant as well as running her own consulting firm – Humancentrix. Tracey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role as well as a keen understanding of the Albany business landscape.

Recruitment for new ACCI CEO

The Executive Committee will now commence the recruitment process for a new CEO, seeking a dynamic leader to build on the Chamber’s solid foundation and to support upcoming initiatives planned for 2025.

Expressions of interest can be directed to Matthew Lilly, ACCI President, on 0457 546 089.

More details on recruitment will be posted on the ACCI Facebook page soon.
